We are super excited to be able to offer this retreat day.
At this time of year as the weather shifts partaking in practices that support your immune function can really benefit your overall health and wellbeing.
Throughout the day we will be looking at the workings of our body in terms of systems. All our systems are seperate but yet are part of our interconnected whole and rely on balance to support our immune function. Our lymphatic, circulatory and nervous system are the major players when it comes to our immunity and the three workshops on our retreat day will focus on each of these and give you some ideas about how you can, through the winter months boost your immunity through a mix of active and passive yoga and natural plant medicine .
The day will start with a two hour active yoga workshop run by Imogen that will explore the interplay between lymphatic and circulatory systems.
Then we will share a nourishing vegetarian lunch and there will be a chance to catch some air and talk to the lamas.
After lunch Sensory Herbalist, Katie Shellard, will be running an Introduction to Plant Medicine Workshop. If you're curious about herbal medicine and want to learn how to make your own remedies then this session is right up your street. Katie will introduce you to some local medicinal plants, with a focus on supporting the immune system over the winter months. We will sample herbal teas and tinctures AND you will make a remedy to take home with you at the end of the day.
We will finish the day with a nourishing and supportive restorative workshop to soothe your nervous system. Allowing ourselves to be fully held and supported by Mother Earth, inviting a sense of ‘letting go’, just as the trees will let go of their leaves. Finishing under the enchanting healing sounds of the Tibetan Singing Bowls as you drop into a deep relaxation.
It is recommended that you have a basic knowledge of yoga.
